N°01 Press Preview

Press Preview N°01
The Library, Madame Fu, Central Hong Kong — June 25, 2026

There is something fitting about holding a first press preview in a room that feels like it has always existed.

The Library at Madame Fu occupies a colonial-era building in Central Hong Kong — stone walls, floor-to-ceiling windows, Persian rugs, oil paintings, green velvet Chesterfields. It is a space where East meets West without announcement, where modern Chinese culinary culture sits comfortably inside a setting of European heritage. The parallel to what Ray of Hours has been quietly building was not lost on anyone in the room.

The brand was conceived in Hong Kong. Its jersey line is produced in Portugal from Italian yarn. Its knitwear is tailored in Shanghai from Sea Island cotton and silk spun in Italy. Different origins, one sensibility. The Library felt like the right room.

The Collection

Eighteen styles. Upper body only. Presented on a single rack.

The simplicity of the presentation was deliberate — it is the brand philosophy made physical. No theatre, no distraction. Just the pieces, the fabric, and the people willing to give them their full attention.

The Permanence Collection extends Ray of Hours beyond its founding Tee N°01 into a considered first range: jersey essentials in the signature black and white palette, joined now by dark navy and an elegant anthracite. New silhouettes, new blends — each one staying true to the founding commitment to exceptional fabrication.

The knitwear capsule introduces 100% cashmere, 100% Sea Island cotton, and a silk/cotton blend produced in Shanghai. These are not trend-driven additions. They are logical extensions of the same question the brand has asked from the beginning: what does an essential feel like when it is made without compromise?

The Room

The event was invitation only. Editors, retailers and industry friends. No general admission, no noise.

Guests handled the pieces directly — felt the weight of the cashmere, the cool touch of the silk blend, the drape of the Sea Island cotton. The questions asked were the right ones: about fabrication, about sourcing, about where the brand is going.

Nine months after launch, the answer to that last question is becoming clearer. A single SKU has become a collection. A collection is becoming a distribution story. The Permanence Collection will release across the coming months — available on rayofhours.com and through selected retail partners.
